Crop Insurance Policies

Protecting Your Land, Livestock and Legacy

There are many different types of crop insurance available to producers. At Koch Insurance we will sit down with you and develop a risk management strategy that keeps your bottom line in mind. We don’t have corporate sales goals or a board of directors mandating sales of unnecessary products. There are no high-pressure sales tactics, we work to keep the premium in your pocket.

Many Different Types of Crop Insurance

There are many different types of crop insurance that coverall types of perils. Whether it's Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) that covers all that mother nature can throw at your crops, or specific insurance such as Hail Insurance. We also offer area-based insurance coverage such as Margin Coverage Option (MCO). This is designed to protect farms from declines in their operating margins, which are calculated between expected revenue and operating costs. No matter the coverage, we are here to help you decide what is best suited for your farming operation.

Livestock

We can also cover your livestock. One of the more popular options is Livestock Risk Protection, which covers everything from your unborn calves all the way up to fat cattle. LRP is designed to protect you against mark price declines on your insured livestock. You may protect all or a portion of your number of head owned. Livestock Gross Margin insurance protects you against losses in gross margin due to fluctuations in livestock prices and feed costs. This is much like LRP but also brings in a feed component in the loss calculation.

Forages

Whether it’s alfalfa or grass for hay or graze we have insurancecoverage to protect your acres. Pasture, Rangeland, and Forage Insurance (PRF) is designed to protect livestock and forage producers from forage losses due to insufficient rainfall. The program issues indemnity checks when rainfall levels are lower than average, directly impacting forage availability.

FSA Program Decisions

Our crop insurance team is here to help you not only with your crop insurance needs. Our team has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to Farm Service Agency (FSA) programs. We will gladly help you with all those complicated and confusing FSA program contracts and forms. We will help you fill out your FSA crop reporting maps each spring and make sure to review them for accuracy after the FSA has loaded them. If you’re unsure which farm program to enroll inwe can show you the benefits of each program and help you make the decision that’s best suited for your operation. There will never be a charge for this additional help.
